The Search for Peace

In the chaos of our days and through the heartbreak of living in a fallen world, we yearn for peace and yet it often eludes us.

But from time to time, we feel it. We know it’s real, and we know it’s there. We sense it in a light breeze that just barely moves blades of grass. In a quiet morning when only the birds are chirping. In tender moments when you check and see your children sleeping soundly. When you see a loved one laugh. When you feel the warmth of your partner’s hand in yours. When you hear beautiful music or see the sun setting, glowing up the earth just for a moment… before it all seems to slip away.

We search for peace, but when we find it, it leaves our grasp all too soon.

Perhaps that’s what it means to be here, to be human. We are always searching, finding, forgetting. And finding, once again, what was always there. 

My hope is that this series of paintings can be a reminder for you — a walk back to peace whenever you need it.
