I’m drawn to the pure organic form and unfiltered beauty found in nature and simple, active living.

The way the tree branches bend and sunlight streams through, the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee, the feeling of earthy soil beneath your fingertips as you plant seedlings, the sound of leaves crunching beneath your feet on a hike, and the rush inside your body on a trail run…

There exists some unseen, ethereal, divine essence between it all. Possibility seems to linger in these moments. I see an open landscape—a blank canvas—waiting for golden sunlight to pour over it. Opportunity beckons. I have to answer and do so by making art.

Hi, I’m Hannah.

Both my inspiration and goal with my art is the same. It’s to go, do, seek more than what’s often thrown in front of us.

Instead of fast-paced days, chaotic noise, excess stimulation, mass-produced things, fluorescent lights… it’s about finding and creating authentic, peaceful refuge in our homes and in nature. But I think this requires active engagement, like getting up to take that hike or tend to the garden or simply listening deeply. All of this bears the fruit of letting us truly taste life. Making art gives me a way to do this. The process asks of me just this one thing: to be engaged.

Painting has also given me a way to channel the bits of inspiration I feel throughout the day into something tangible. I find solace in the fact that something beautiful can always be created despite any kind of external circumstance. Hope is found there.

Working with my hands—whether through painting, baking, or cooking—prayer, and staying active through exercise are my lifeline. I create from my home near Philadelphia, PA where I live with my husband and love of my life, Donovan.

Thank you for visiting.

I see beauty, I long to be a part of it, I want to see more of it, and so I paint.
